Discussion Questions:

1. What’s the relationship between our passage and the previous verses in John 10? How does our passage build on those previous verses?

2. Jesus refers to Himself as the “Good Shepherd” in John 10:11-21.  Where is His goodness seen in our passage?

3. How does the Good Shepherd compare to the hired hands?  Who might this refer to?

4. Why does Jesus highlight His relationship with the Father throughout our passage?

5. Who are the “other” sheep mentioned in vs. 16?  Where else do we see God’s heart for these “other” sheep emphasized in the Bible?

6. According to Jesus, what should mark His sheep?

7. How would Jesus later prove that His sacrifice worked?

8. Four times Jesus mentions laying down His life in our passage.  How does knowing that Jesus laid down His life for His sheep affect the way you view Him?
