Title: Peace Out and Peace In

Big Idea: Peacemakers pursue vertical and horizontal peace for the glory of God.

1. The Principle

See Romans 5:1; Ephesians 2:14; 1 John 1:3-4

The gospel provides vertical peace (relational harmony with God) and horizontal peace (relational harmony with God’s people).  

2. The Practice

See 2 Corinthians 5:20-21; Romans 14:19; 2 Timothy 2:22; Philippians 4:2-3; Psalm 133:1

Practice Steps:

• (1) Preach the gospel and pray for gospel-proclaiming opportunities.  1-4P Challenge.
• (2) Pursue what makes for peace and mutual upbuilding in the church.
• (3) Repent for not sharing the gospel and repent for not pursuing those things that make for peace in the church.
